Privacy notice
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This notice explains, in plain words, what happens to your information when you use itnerd.co.uk. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
IT Nerd UK is the business name of Roberto Grosa, a sole trader based in England. Roberto is responsible for your information (the "controller" under UK data protection law).
If you have any question about your information, write to contact@itnerd.co.uk. Every message is read by a real person.
What we collect, and why
1. "Keep me posted" (the launch waitlist)
- What: your email address.
- Why: to email you once, when the new website is live.
- How it works: we first send one email asking you to confirm. Nothing is saved to the list until you press the button in that email.
- Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link, or by writing to us.
- How long: until the launch email has been sent, then we delete the waitlist within 30 days. The exception is anyone who has also chosen the newsletter.
2. The contact form
- What: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message.
- Why: to read your message and reply to you. That is the only reason.
- How it works: your message waits safely until you confirm your email address with the link we send you. If it isn't confirmed within 48 hours, it is deleted automatically and never reaches us. Once confirmed, it arrives in our inbox at contact@itnerd.co.uk.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us, or taking the steps you ask for before any agreement.
- How long: as long as we need to answer you and follow up. We delete enquiries no later than two years after our last contact. If we go on to work together, we keep only what the law requires for business records.
3. The newsletter (only if you tick the box)
- What: your name, email address, and a note that you joined through the contact form.
- Why: to send you the IT Nerd UK newsletter.
- Lawful basis: your consent, given when you tick the box and confirm your email address.
- How long: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only your email address on a "do not email" list, so you are never emailed again by mistake.
4. Keeping the forms safe from spam
- To stop automated spam, the forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type.
- We also count submissions per visitor for one hour, using a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address that we can't turn back into the address.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website and our inbox safe.
5. Visitor statistics
- What: simple totals about visits, such as which pages are read, which website sent the visitor, the country, the type of device and browser, and how fast the pages load.
- Why: to see whether the website is useful and working well, and to improve it. We only ever see totals in a dashboard, never an individual visit or person.
- How it works: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't store anything on your device, and it isn't used for advertising or to build a profile of you.
- Your choice: statistics are switched off automatically if your browser sends a "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" signal. You can also switch them off for this device here:
Statistics only run with JavaScript; with JavaScript off, nothing is counted.
- If you switch them off, your browser remembers that one choice (and nothing else) in its own storage, so we can respect it next time.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding, in totals, how the website is used so we can improve it.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or trade your information. Ever.
- We don't add you to anything you didn't choose.
Who helps us (our processors)
A few trusted services handle information on our behalf, only as we instruct, under data processing agreements:
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): sends our emails and holds the waitlist and newsletter lists, on servers in the European Union.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosts the website, runs the spam protection (Turnstile) and the visitor statistics, and holds unconfirmed contact messages for up to 48 hours.
- Google (Google Workspace): our email inbox at contact@itnerd.co.uk.
Some of these companies may process information outside the UK. When they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK-approved contract terms or the UK–US data bridge.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the information we hold about you,
- correct it,
- delete it,
- stop or limit how we use it,
- give it to you in a portable format.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That doesn't affect anything done before.
To use any of these rights, just write to contact@itnerd.co.uk. We'll reply within one month, and it's free.
If you're not happy
Please tell us first, and we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If anything here changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
